Necromanteion
The famous Necromanteion of Acheron discovered the Decade of ‘ 60. It was dedicated to Hades, the God of death and brother of Zeus. According to mythology, Hermes was driving through the waters of Acheron the souls of the dead with the Hades. Ulysses descended to the underworld from the point of the Oracle, in order to meet Tiresias, in order to get an Oracle that will help him return to his homeland, Ithaca. In ancient times people believed that the dead were the ones who had the charisma to predict the future and not the gods. For this reason, guests of the Oracle were targeted for oracles in the souls of the dead.
